Women’s Empowerment Link (WEL) is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan organization supports and equips women and the girl child to realize their potential, worth and strength politically, socially and economically, by advocating for opportunities that explore their imminent inner strength. 
WEL is based in Kenya with three offices in Nairobi, Naivasha and Mombasa
Women’s Empowerment Link (WEL) a national NGO based in Kenya is seeking for a Resource Mobilization Consultant based in the USA. The successful candidate must have an understanding of Kenya and African context; highly skilled and experienced in engaging with individual, Foundations and other development partners. The consultant will work with WEL in resourcing their growth strategy. 
Working Relationships: 
Programme Team including the Programs Manager and Advocacy And Fundraising Officer  
Donor partners and civil society organization and supporters  
Finance management Team
Position responsibilities 
 Identify potential individuals, foundations, charity organizations and institutions that have interest in WEL’s priorities 
 Organizing donor round tables and fundraising sessions in consultation with WEL management 
 Understand
 Advise WEL on strategic programming to contribute to inform on the key donor partners who should be approached and on specific programmes and strategic relationship building for resource mobilization. 
 Advocacy, communications and reporting. Consultant will provide advice on the messages, products, and processes to be used when engaging to various clients for resource mobilization. 
 Organize donor meetings for WEL staff to meet donors at least twice in the year 
 Developing, implementing and monitoring fundraising strategies, that includes yearly targets to meet the costs of the current and future programmes 
 Review monitor and document donor funding policies and trends in the country. 
 Identify and maintain consortia in preparation for upcoming and on-going opportunities 
 Coordinate all marketing/communication and fundraising development activities in the country also serving as the lead writer for communication and marketing content with support by WEL staff 
 Any other resource mobilization activities agreed uponing of the Strategic Plan to understand to advice on the nature and magnitude of resources to be mobilized in a timely manner and advise accordingly.
 Required Skills: 
 To be able to carry out the above responsibilities, the Resource Mobilization Consultant should have the following capabilities:
. Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and minimum of 5 years working experience similar positions  
. Excellent understanding of donor relations, resource mobilization, and networking  
. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently, be innovative and creative  
. Excellent interpersonal communications skills (written and verbal)
 . Ability to draft quality concept notes and proposals  
.  Demonstrate strong facilitation, negotiation and networking skills  
. Excellent computer skills  
. Demonstrate understanding African context and experience of fundraising for non-governmental organizations 
.  Have empathy as well as high commitment in working with poor and marginalized people.  
. Demonstrate understanding of Gender Equality and womens empowerment  
. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to shared values of the organization: mutual respect; honesty and transparency; equity and justice; solidarity with underprivileged and marginalized women and girls; courage of conviction; and humility
