Organizational context and impact of results
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director ENI, the Banker contributes to the operations in private and public sectors related to the Department’s activities, ensuring high quality of work, accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented services delivery, including achievement of budget qualitative and quantitative targets. S/he performs specific tasks aimed to support development and implementation of operations at various stages of operation cycle within the ENI’s area of responsibilities and assists in the implementation of the Departmental Work Plan.
The key results have an impact on the achievement of operational targets, ensuring the advancement of the Bank in line with its mission and mandate.
Functions
  • Contributes to the ENI Department’s activities in originating, screening, structuring and negotiating loan transactions in both private and public energy and infrastructure sectors; assists with financial, technical, legal and environmental due diligence and prepares project documentation; provides input to the preparation of business plans, budget and internal policies and procedures; monitors department’s existing operations; assists with the development and analysis of data, tables, reports, documents.
  • Maintains dialogue with internal and external stakeholders: communicates with managed clients within portfolio and follows up with the clients’/project developments and proposes to the Director/team interventions in case of necessity; builds and maintains relationships with internal (other units of the Bank) and external stakeholders in relation to project execution; promotes contacts with business communities and officials.
  • Actively participates in marketing and business development, identifies market trends in the energy and infrastructure sectors in the countries of operations, carries out market research for prospective clients, participates in various events.

Minimum requirements for the position
  • Education: First-level University degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: at least 5 years of relevant working experience gained in: i) corporate/project finance/structured finance group/department of a commercial or development bank or a major international investor/merchant; or ii) an international corporation or institution having BSTDB sector specialty.
  • Computer skills: Strong computer skills and good knowledge of relevant software applications.
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis on difficult, but well defined tasks, to articulate issues and to recommend solutions.
  • Ability to effectively provide professional support to senior staff.  
  • Excellent command of English.
Desirable education/qualifications/experience/knowledge/skills:
  • Postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in an international development financial institution.
  • Experience in the region of the BSTDB’s operations.
  • Good Knowledge of a member country language.
