Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) for Finance, Administration, and Compliance

Organization Description:
EDC’s International Development Division (IDD) focuses on three major areas: literacy and basic education, youth livelihoods and workforce development, and the application of technologies. Within these three areas, programs support national school reform efforts, HIV/AIDS prevention and other health promotion, and communities and local governing bodies. Another key strand of EDC’s international work focuses on helping countries expand economic opportunity and build civic society.
EDC works with governments, agencies, and other partners in 35 countries to develop programs that are respectful of cultural traditions and beliefs. The international division comprises six regional centers coordinating EDC’s work in West and Central Africa, East and Southern Africa, North Africa and the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and South and Southeast Asia.
At the moment, EDC is preparing for a project to strengthen comprehensive care and support for orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) who are infected and affected by HIV, increasing their chances to grow up to be healthy, educated, and socially well-adjusted adults in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) for Finance, Administration, and Compliance will be responsible
for and serve as primary coordinator for all aspects of activity finance, administration, compliance, and sub-grants management. Required qualifications include:
  • Fluency in both French and English;
  • Not less than 7 years of relevant management experience, with progressive responsibilities, in
  • developing countries (of which some experience should be in francophone Africa);
  • Demonstrated experience in financial regulations, policies, and practices of comparable USG or other international programs funded by other donors;
  • Master’s degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience;
  • Strong financial and operational management experience with proven management skills.
