Financial policy advisor

Chemonics seeks a component leader for an anticipated USAID-funded entrepreneurship and enterprise development project in Egypt. The project aims to increase competitiveness of Egyptian micro, small, and medium-size enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on women and youth. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee financial and non-financial services to MSMEs
  • Advocate for critical policy reform for development and competitiveness of MSMEs through strategic partnerships
  • Improve availability and accessibility of effective and efficient business development services and financial products and services
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in business, finance, management, or relevant field preferred
  • Relevant technical experience in policy reform and provision of financial and non-financial services, specifically in Egypt
  • Technical expertise in business processes, increased competitiveness, development and enhancement of MSMEs and entrepreneurs through knowledge sharing, establishment of local centers, and applied best practices
  • Capacity to identify appropriate stakeholders and proven ability to interact with the public and private sector
  • Experience on a donor-funded project preferred
  • Ability to work and travel in remote areas of Egypt to oversee program implementation and provide technical expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
