Global Citizenship Fellows Program, Community Engagement Fellow

by Unknown  |  at  12:13 AM

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) works in 190 countries and territories to put children first. UNICEF has helped save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization, by providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States. Together, we are working toward the day when no children die from preventable causes and every child has a safe and healthy childhood. For more information, visit www.unicefusa.org.
Global Citizenship Fellows Program, Community Engagement Fellow:Community Engagement Fellows work with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Program and Community Engagement Division in the following locations: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas /North Texas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, , and Washington, D.C. The Fellowship is a highly-selective, full-time, 13 month program that prepares diverse, committed, and globally-minded individuals for effective leadership in public service. By helping to establish UNICEF’s domestic imprint, the Fellows exemplify the concept of the “global citizen” as someone who understands global interconnectedness, respects and values diversity, has the ability to challenge injustice and inequalities, and takes action in a way that is personally meaningful. Fellows aim to inspire their communities to take action for the world’s children by engaging local groups and cultivating awareness.
The Fellow’s primary function will be to support the core functions and goals of USF departments: Education, Volunteer and Community Partnerships (VCP), Civil Society Partnerships, and the Office of Public Policy and Advocacy (OPPA). The three main areas of the work plan are outreach, partnership development, and grassroots program implementation for our domestic initiatives: Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, TeachUNICEF, UNICEF High School clubs, UNICEF Campus Initiative, UNICEF Tap Project, the End Trafficking campaign, UNICEF’s Next Generation, advocacy initiatives, and other community mobilization activities.
Fellows will work closely with regional staff, but will report to the Global Citizenship Program Team in New York or Chicago.
