Group ICT Back Office/ Server Administrator

Group ICT Back Office/Server Administrator
The incumbent will be required to install, configure, support and maintain server infrastructure and server operating systems.
The position is based in Cullinan (near Pretoria).
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Virtualise and consolidate physical servers
• Ensure availability and performance compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements)
• Install server-based applications
• Monitor server logs and health alarms
• Perform maintenance tasks such as patch levels, firmware upgrades and backups
• Oversee physical security, console access and out of band management access
• Monitor, investigate and report breaches in performance
• Monitor capacity - disk, RAM and processor
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
• Work cooperatively with application teams to install or upgrade existing applications.
Minimum requirements:
• Grade 12
• MCSE 2003 certification or above preferred
• 5 years’ working experience
• National Diploma in IT (advantage)
• Valid driver’s licence.
Other skills/competencies:
• Working knowledge of ITIL change management
• Knowledge of common operating system maintenance, including Windows platforms 2003, 2008 R2, 2012 R2
• Additional valuable skills: SharePoint, WebSphere, Hyper-V, CA Server, NAP\Radius Server, LAN switching and Storage Area Networks
• Working knowledge of Exchange 2010
• Working knowledge of clusters and high availability environments
• Working knowledge of disaster recovery planning
• Patch management experience (WSUS and SCCM)
• Backup and Tape Library System
• Experience in managing enterprise anti-virus software
• Customer relations - ability to deal at all levels in the organisation and with external customers
• Situational analysis and problem-solving.
