Geotechnical Engineering
Petra Diamonds SA invites candidates who are interested in gaining workplace experience in the mining sector in the discipline of geotechnical engineering to apply for the Young Graduate Work Experience Project. The position will be based in Koffiefontein (Free State).
Duties and responsibilities:
• Follow a programme to gain workplace experience within specified areas and sections
• Execute project-based work related to geotechnical engineering
• Work in designated areas according to the Mine’s Standard Operating Procedures
• Work according to the applicable policies and procedures
• Submit progress reports to supervisors for assessment.
Minimum requirements:
• Grade 12
• Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology
• It will be to your advantage if you are from the labour sending area of the Mine (Letsemeng Municipality/Xhariep District Municipality/Free State Province).
Other skills/competencies:
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as sound interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to show initiative and be self-motivated
• Report-writing skills.
