Plan emergency teams are on the ground helping thousands of children and families who have been forced to flee recent outbreaks of violence in South Sudan.
Plan has been working in South Sudan, including before its independence, since 2006 - helping poor children to access their rights to education, health, protection and economic security.
Plan South Sudan are recruiting for a Country Safety and Security Manager to lead the development and management of the country safety & security strategy and provide support to the country operations on management of all safety and security issues
Do you have what it takes?
A proven security professional with in-depth knowledge of security risk management and associated principles, you will have relevant experience working within the humanitarian sector. You will have previous experience in developing and implementing Security Management Frameworks (SMFs) and all related processes and procedures. With knowledge of Humanitarian Codes of Conduct you will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of major incident response mechanisms during critical incidences. You will be adept at using your networks to build knowledge and capacity of local teams, providing necessary trainings and standard operating procedures.

Type of Role: 2 year fixed term contract - unaccompanied position
Location: Based in Country Office, Juba plus flexibility to travel at short notice to difficult and risky areas (estimated 35% travel)
Reports to: Country Director
Salary: Circa $50,000 US Dollar per annum - With a full expat package available.
