Project Associate - Marketplace for Nutritious Foods

To facilitate networking and information sharing amongst COP members on regular basis and where possible link with other service providers for TA or financial support
· To maintain the CoP membership database, Marketplace Technical service provider database and ensure that these are equipped to support the delivery of activities across the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods
· Identify suitable members from business and supporting institutions like government, donors, academia, etc. and invite them to join the Community of Practice (CoP) in collaboration with the Project Manager, Marketplace for Nutritious foods
· Design training programs in collaboration with the Project Manager, Marketplace for Nutritious Foods
· Engage relevant, high caliber speakers and relevant experts for training
· Set up and manage training/ speaking events, etc.
· Actively exchange knowledge and experience with the other project officers in the other Marketplace countries
· Actively contribute to knowledge management in the Kenya team as well as the whole of GAIN
· Seek input from CoP members regarding their training/ experience sharing ideas and needs and integrate these into the CoP program where relevant, make continuous improvements
· To maintain the Marketplace visibility plan, identify new opportunities for raising visibility around the Marketplace and
increasing CoP membership. This will include developing regular project newsletters, updating the members business
directory and ensuring that key media contacts are aware of Marketplace activities and cover these accordingly to provide visibility to both GAIN and the donor
· Identify, design and package relevant pieces of information for the members of the community of practice and the other stakeholders of the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods incl. GAIN, USAID, etc.
· Manage and update the Networking platforms of the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods: Facebook page, SMS platform, project website etc. and actively work on increasing the number of followers/ members, etc.
· Design and oversee GAIN/Marketplace presence in local events, such as agribusiness fairs and trade shows.
· Contribute with stories to the global GAIN homepage/ other publications where relevant in collaboration with the GAIN communications team
· In collaboration with the GAIN communications team and the Project Manager, Marketplace for Nutritious Foods, achieve outreach for GAIN and the Marketplace by providing information, stories, press releases, etc. to the media · In collaboration with the GAIN communications team, design Marketplace promotional materials (brochures, flyers)
Compile photographs of CoP events and Innovation Accelerator candidates/grantees, and project activities
· Oversee communications on Innovation Accelerator, where applicable. For example: Announcement of call for proposals, communications with candidates, etc.
· Track and document Community of Practice activities in accordance with GAIN and donor reporting.
· Other tasks related to the implementation of the Marketplace as required by the GAIN Kenya Marketplace lead.
  • · Identify and equip TAC with relevant information for decision making in each call
