OVERVIEW OF CTG GLOBAL

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Repair all types of Light / Heavy vehicles bodies & trailers deploying requisite skills and expertise. Working to the highest standards without close supervision to achieve an acceptable level of work throughout whist maintaining quality standards at all times
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Role objective:
  1. Remove damaged panels and components by unbolting or cutting them away.
  2. Remove dents by hammering panels with panel beating tools such as a special hammer called a planishing hammer.
  3. Straighten badly damaged vehicles using mechanical and hydraulic equipment to obtain door, boot and bonnet clearances.
  4. Cut and join replacement sections or damaged panels using oxyacetylene and electric welding equipment.
  5. Fill dents with plastic fillers, and file, grind and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
  6. Fit the repaired panel on the framework of the vehicle and refit body hardware such as door locks and door trims.
  7. Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels
  8. Realign chassis and body frames, and use chassis alignment machines and measuring systems.
  9. Remove and replace accident-related mechanical items.
  10. Remove and replace auto-electric components
  11. Assist in spray painting vehicles.
  12. Weld and fabricate items as required.
  13. Supervise and instruct semi-skilled staff, apprentices and other junior staff in the workshop. Including also the requirement to attend any training courses on vehicles or equipment that maybe deemed necessary.
  14. Use safe working practises and procedures at all times and in particular to comply with the Organisations Health and Safety at work policy. Including the wearing of protective clothing, masks and consideration for the environment.
  15. Share experiences gained with other staff members and strive towards creating good team building and harmonious atmosphere.
  16. Loss or damage of Cargo, Spares, Tools or Equipment as well as Loss of Fuel in the care of the employee shall be deducted from the salary based on CIF value or Local Market Rate, whichever is prevailing. This can also lead to penalties or dismissal to the Personnel and penalties on the Service Provider or Contractor.
  17. Travel occasionally, as required by the Organisation and perform any other duties as requested by immediate Supervisor.
Expected output:
Repair all vehicles to the highest standard in the shortest possible timeframe and with the utmost importance to withhold the highest safety standards.
Project reporting:
Persons Reporting: Semi-skilled staff, Trainees delegated to work with Body Repairer / Welder.
Team management:
To liaise and cooperate with all Workshop staff.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
Certificate in Body Repairs/Panel Beating. Completed a full course at technical college, or similar institution in Body Repairs/Panel Beating, Welding with experience gained in both light and heavy Vehicles.
Work experience:
§ Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable relevant Maintenance experience.
Geographical experience:
§ Local experience in Geneina is an advantage.
Languages:
§ Fluency in Arabic is essential.
Key competencies:
Held the position of Body Repairer (Panel Beater) or Welder or similar job in a Company/NGO with at least 3 years’ experience gained in the relevant field.
Hold a full driving licence for Light vehicle category. This preferable but not a necessity.
