The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Quality Assurance Tester Consultant, based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Head of Quality Assurance Testing, the consultant will validate and test that new or changed IT digital solutions match their design specifications and will meet the needs of the business, using the WFP IT standard testing toolkit and the WFP IT standard incident and problem management toolkit. He/she will validate whether IT digital solutions are fit for purpose and fit for use. Key duties include:
* Identify test requirements for new or changed IT digital solutions from business needs and requirements; specifications for design, usability, development and reporting; or buy and configuration; documentation; and any known error reports as they are produced throughout the Software Development Life Cycle;
* Decide test coverage and plan, estimate and schedule tests;
* Design tests, including test cases, test scripts, test data, requirements traceability matrix and types of testing (smoke, regression, usability, functional, security, integration, performance, stress, end to end, etc.);
* Prepare test environment to replicate the end-users’ or productive environment;
* Perform tests, documenting incremental test results and defect reports;
* Evaluate exit criteria and report on final test results, defect metrics and testing closure;
* Clean up and close tests;
* Facilitate reviews of test results with IT digital solutions team(s);
* Other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
* University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Information Technology or related fields.

Experience:
* 2 or more years of experience working within an IT environment, ideally in service validation and testing within ITIL service transition.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework would be beneficial
* Knowledge of service validation and testing within ITIL service transition

Language:
* Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
